A Tribute to Sonie Mathew
On February 9, 2021 BlackRock and the entire DC-area artistic community lost a legacy and friend, Sonie Mathew.
Sonie touched the lives of over a thousand young people in his decade of service to BlackRock education programs who like him, share a passion for theater and music.
This page and its contents serve as an ongoing tribute to Sonie, his love for the arts and his students. We will be updating this content as we have more information on how we as a community can honor and celebrate Sonie.
Above all else, our thoughts and support go out to Sonie’s family, friends, and students.
