CREATIVE REUSE CENTER
Creative ReUse (CRC) at BlackRock Center for the Arts
What is Creative ReUse?
BlackRock is proud to be part of a national movement, building a Creative ReUse Center, or CRC. A CRC is all about collecting and then re-distributing new and gently used Art & Craft supplies back into the community as well as celebrating ways to upcycle those materials to create new art!
A CRC has three parts:
1. A thrift store for art & craft supplies. We’re offering pay what you can pricing, so it’s great for any budget.
2. Classes and workshops that focus on upcycling and recycling materials to produce great art & crafts
3. Artisan Markets that include artists who incorporate recycled materials into their art – creating beautiful items for you to purchase
When will all this happen?
The thrift store is popping up each time BlackRock hosts their Artisan Markets. The Artisan Markets are usually the 2nd Saturday of each month between April and December. Click here for details. The classes/workshops and upcycling artists will be coming in the near future, so stay tuned or let us know about your interest!!
What can I buy?
Stop by our Pop-up thrift store to purchase crayons, markers, paint brushes, fabrics of all kinds, yarn, vintage postcards, sewing notions, vintage magazines, construction paper, paints and inks, frames, feathers, you get the idea!
